Although we do tend to do a lot of fantasy, paranormal, and spiritual events and offerings, she is more than just that. She loves to help people and to make them feel special by using active listening to hear your needs, wants, and concerns. When you choose Susan to be your event planner, she will help taking care of your needs and all of the fine details so that you do not have to stress about the planning aspect. Other than paying, and doing the few things of homework she will have for you, you really don't even have to lift a finger unless you just wanted to. That's what so great about her. Let her shoulder your burdens so to speak.
What qualifications does she have?
Susan Abney previously worked for a former local banquet hall as a server. Not only can she bartend, but she can serve, set up, break down, plan, coordinate, and cook. If she could do it all, she would.
She has 2 Culinary Degrees, has experience in catering for large scale events, head Sous Chef, meal planning, meal prepping, obtained her ServSafe certification, and more. The reason this is important, is when choosing a caterer for your event, Susan can provide unique opinions and expertise to help you pick the right person for the right job.
She has completed online courses for Event Planning and Business Administration courses to better serve you, the customer in all aspects of planning an event.
She has been an active vendor event planner since 2015. She has ran multiple events between Paducah, KY to Cape Girardeau, MO areas. She has real-life hands-on experience working in the industry.
She has been using SocialTables by Cvent for designing layouts since 2022. This program helps with events running smoothly, especially when space is a concern and every inch counts when you have to shove a bunch of 6ft round tables in a small room with 100 people. Inches matter sometimes!!
Susan has worked with a variety of vendors and businesses within the Tri-State area, and can suggest a numerous amount of people for DJs, hair and makeup, bartenders, how to purchase alcohol for your event if there isn't a bar, venues, caterers, officiants, rules and regulations, decorators (if you're not utilizing Susan for that role), and more. With so many amazing connections, she will be sure to get you
Susan is a graphic designer and utilizes Canva and Adobe for designing invitations, RSVPs, thank you cards, small and large signs for your big day, and much more. The company she utilizes can do a lot of customizations, which could also involve party favors (would need to discuss).
Did you know that she even has a waffle robe distributor who can also get your matching robes embroidered for your wedding party..???? Surprise! Can even get you matching head bands for when you need to put your makeup on, and even matching slippers.
Susan owns a lot of decorations already such as lights, ceiling drape kits, curtains, photography backdrop panels, runners, some table decor, and more. Because she is able to purchase wholesale, it reduces costs by not having to rent items and scramble to get them back. There are instances where renting is a better option (large furniture and arches, etc). Susan likes to save you as much money as possible, so she will always discuss all of the options, never hide anything from you, and always be up front and honest.
